The Distance of the Moon
I made this painting of a dock several years ago. The original idea came from my hand-painted series of work. I added the moon for a dramatic effect. I photographed several still images of the final painting (30" x 40"), moving in closer and closer until the moon’s texture became dominant. The moon moves over the top of the viewer as the video nears the end. I then ran the images in a sequence with soft fades between each image to create this video.
