North Carolina
North Carolina Coastal Regions
For the past fifteen years I have been going to Wilmington on North Carolina's shore. Even though I live one mile from the Jersey shore, I enjoy this coastline more. Perhaps is it the large areas of marshland or the intercoastal waterway that buffers the mainland. It may even be the quality of light that scrapes across the sand dunes and through the sand fences and sea grass. I am very interested in the way the waves repeatedly create new textures into the sand.
