Lanai

The island of Lanai was one of the most relaxing places I have ever visited. Between the rugged landscape and the beautiful shoreline, the stay there was filled with many diverse things to do. For many years the Dole pineapple plantation owned this island, raising acres upon acres of pineapples. You can still see the remnants of the farms. A tiny town with tiny homes reminds the visitor of the way it may have looked many years ago. The clouds in Lanai reach out and touch the hills, almost as though they sprung out from them. I was fascinated by the pine trees and how different they are from what I am used to seeing.

Magnificent coastlines, amazing sunsets, compelling landscapes, and unassuming wildlife are what I will remember most about Lanai.
