Arizona
Monument Valley, Arizona and travel south from Utah
Driving down from Utah, I entered Arizona to enormous flat areas. This is where I saw a mirage and shimmering, out-of-focus, questionable horizons. After traveling for a few hours on our way to the Grand Canyon, my traveling partner and I came upon these massive, looming structures. The red oxide is bright red and adorns each of these standing stratified monuments that were formed by meandering rivers.
