Greece
Island of Crete, 1991
In the fall of 1991, I spent about two months on the island of Crete in Greece. My stay there was the beginning of a backpacking adventure through Europe. A friend of mine was playing professional basketball in Crete, so I came along for support. We ventured around the island in a rental car and visited Knossos, Malta, and Via. We stayed in the city of Heraklion.
This country is both beautiful and barren with low-lying shrubs. I was astounded to see garbage thrown over the hillside against the beautiful shoreline of pristine waters. Most of the images that I took here are on film and will take more time to scan, fix, and upload.
